Graeme Murty wants to see his players repeat their devastating form on the training ground in real match action.
The soccer student has been amazed that his side have only picked up one point from their last three matches turning a title challenge into a battle to avoid fourth place in the Premiership.
On Saturday Sevco host Dundee hoping to avoid their eighth home defeat of the season with Murty spending this week analysing the failings of his squad.
Motherwell should have been out of sight by half-time on Saturday but Murts saw enough in the second half to convince him that his players can still achieve second place in the Premiership.
“Watching the game back, watching the players execute what we practised in training really well at times and to look at the first half and compare and contrast the two, the teams are almost unrecognisable given that the personnel is the same,” he explained to the Evening Times.
“So I am frustrated that we haven’t executed, and that is what it comes down to I feel.
“It doesn’t come down, necessarily, to personnel or system, it is not executing what we are good at and not negating what our opponents are trying to do.
“We didn’t do that well enough, we didn’t deal with their threat well enough.
“The players know that, I know that but the frustration is that the game was there, the game was as we thought it would be, we just didn’t cope with it well enough.
“I don’t think they were surprised. They knew it was going to happen, they just didn’t cope with it.
“You are looking at it from different eyes to me. They didn’t look surprised to me, they just didn’t cope with it. Simple as.
“That can’t happen at this football club, you can’t not stand up to the challenge ahead of you.”
Murty will face a sceptical audience at Ibrox on Saturday with a number of former Rangers (IL) players questioning whether he has the ability to take on the job on a permanent basis.
