Celtic and Hibs drew 1-1 at Cappielow today in the Development League with the two teams meeting again on Thursday in the semi final of the SFA Youth Cup.

Lewis Allan gave ten man Hibs the lead early in the second half but the hoops equalised in the 79th minute through Broque Watson.

The match got off to a lively start when Sean Mackie was given a third minute red card for a brutal attack on Grant Savoury who had to be replaced by Watson.

Celtic dominated the first half against the ten men but struggled to create many clear cut chances.

Eight minutes into the second half Allan took advantage of a mix up in the Celtic defence to put Hibs in front.

Celtic stepped things up just past the hour mark when Jack Aitchison replaced Leo Mazis and eventually equalised with 11 minutes left to play.

Tom Caffrey made all the running for the goal before squaring the ball to Watson who calmly found the net.

Celtic pushed strongly for the winner in the closing stages but were out of luck, hopefully they’ll go one better on Thursday when the two clubs meet in the semi-final of the SFA Youth Cup.
