It’s fairly well known that Dave King’s celebrations at the penalty shoot out victory over Celtic at Hampden 25 months ago were a little over the top.

A few weeks after taking control of the tribute act the South African based criminal was high fiving and indulging in other gestures with John Gilligan and Paul Murray.

Those three individuals had masterminded the concert party take over of the club that has resulted in an £11m demand from the Takeover Appeal Panel.

Life was good at the time, Selik had been put in their place with the only worry being how to retain the Magic Hat when he gets offered the England job.

Dermot Desmond wasn’t so happy with what he witnessed at Hampden, on and off the park.

Ronny Deila paid the price for what happened on the pitch, by recruiting Brendan Rodgers as manager Desmond has extracted revenge on King for what happened off the pitch at Hampden.

Two years later it seems that King has forgotten the old Castlemilk proverb of never to upset an Irish billionaire.

As he plays to the gullible gallery the man described as a glib and shameless liar in a South African court has fallen foul of Denis O’Brien.

Just as Steven Gerrard should have tried a google check for Glib and Shameless Liar so King should have scouted out Mr O’Brien before releasing the name of Murdoch MacLennan to his tabloid Rottweilers.

O’Brien doesn’t like any publicity, he certainly doesn’t like bad publicity and won’t take kindly to ridiculous accusations from a small time crook who made his fortune on the back of apartheid.

Having riled a man believed to be worth $4.4m US Mr King would be well advised to pipe doon.

O’Brien’s fortune is twice as much as Desmond. That’s an awful lot of Craig Whyte’s.

Since being slapped down yesterday by the SPFL King has failed to come up with a response.

King’s PR team has now delivered a poorly argues follow up, they really ought to have google searched Mr O’Brien and moved on to another squirrel to amuse the gullible and hard of thinking.
