The Banter Years are running stronger than ever with hoops fans delighted to discover all about the Great Celtic Conspiracy.
According to some Ibrox moon-howlers every aspect of Scottish football is under the direct control of Peter Lawwell and Dermot Desmond with the sole purpose of destroying clubs from Ibrox.

Oh dear Andy what is the point?
All these tenuous links prove two things.

Rather than pick up the occasional lesson from the last decade it seems that denial has never been stronger with no body of Ibrox supporters prepared to question why Dave Murray, Craig Whyte, Charles Green and now Dave King have been welcomed and cheered and serenaded without scrutiny.
Anyone in a blazer and brogues has a free pass to the approval of the people as they suspiciously eye up anyone proposing to run the club along business lines, living within their means and being responsible for debt.
Tomorrow Steven Gerrard takes up his new job- a new chapter in the Banter Years opens up but some familiar traits are guaranteed as the former Liverpool youth coach delivers the soundbites to reassure the terminally gullible.
