Celtic fans will be welcomed to the Broomloan Road Stand at Ibrox next season in their usual numbers.

A determined campaign from Follow Follow favourite Papasmurf has brought only tea and biscuits with Stewart Robertson and a polite thank you from the Ibrox supremo.

Petitions and surveys have been launched across social media giving loyal bears the opportunity to express their anger at 7,000 Celtic fans celebrating inside The Old Lady twice a season.

Celtic’s 3-2 win in March seemed to galvanise support to slash Celtic’s ticket allocation with Odsonne Edouard’s winning goal and the post match celebrations proving too much to take for thousands of Ibrox season ticket holders.

After his most recent plate of biscuits in the blue room of dignity Papasmurf admitted: “I spoke with Stewart Robertson last week to consider what needs to be done.

“The bottom line from the conversation is that he has no appetite to progress this. I’m not saying the board overall will be unreceptive to this. But as long as SR is involved in it, nothing will progress.

“His only concern is about the money.”

The visits from Celtic generate around £750,000 a season for Sevco which is badly needed at a club with a turnover of just £29.2m.

It would take 1,500 full priced season tickets to replace that sort of income with the Ibrox club braced for a dip in the current level of season tickets despite the excitement of bringing in Steven Gerrard as manager.
