Celtic fans welcome Morelos

Celtic fans extended the hand of friendship to Alfredo Morelos on Sunday.

The Colombian goal ace looks like missing out on a place at the World Cup in the summer but his efforts over the season were recognised during the heat of Sunday’s derby clash at Celtic Park.

Over 50,000 supporters rose to cheer Morelos as he prepared to replace Josh Windass with his side trailing 5-0 to the seven-in-a-row champions.

During January and February there were unconfirmed reports of bids of upto £11m from clubs in China but Sevco opted to hold on to their leading scorer.

Despite promising his family in Colombia that he would score against Celtic in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup Morelos failed to find the net in five matches against the hoops.

The 21-year-old was nominated for the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award but lost out to three-in-a-row winner Kieran Tierney.
