Celtic has the last word on McLeish

Celtic have got their way over Scotland’s mid-summer jolly to South and Central America.

Two completely meaningless friendlies with Peru and Mexico were blamed on Stewart Regan with the SFA going ahead with the matches in order to pick up a match fee believed to be around £250,000.

As well as the long distance flights there is five hours flying time between the two venues as the locals turn out to cheer their nations off to the World Cup Finals in Russia.

Jack Hendry, Stuart Armstrong, Ryan Christie and Lewis Morgan are the only Celtic players listed for the trip with none of them regulars in Brendan Rodgers’ first team plans.

With crucial Champions League qualifiers starting in the second week in July Craig Gordon, Kieran Tierney, Leigh Griffiths, Callum McGregor and James Forrest will put their feet up after Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final rather than going on a bus parking exercise under McLeish.

Despite being handed a two minute cap in the 1-0 win away to Hungry Jason Cummings has been left out of the squad after a nightmare loan spell at Sevco.
