Peter Lawwell has revealed that Celtic’s transfer plans are already underway.

On July 10/11 Brendan Rodgers’ side will be back in action with eight qualifying matches to be negotiated if they are to reach the group phase of the Champions League.

Back-to-back seasons at the top table has given the club a considerable bank balance to operate from with the Rodgers factor a massive draw to attract new players.

Tom Rogic’s decision to sign up for a further five seasons has given the Celtic support a massive boost with new faces now the target.

Speaking to the Celtic Underground podcast Lawwell said: “We have a number of positions that Brendan would like to strengthen in and we are working on those at the moment and of course there is probably going to be some players that will leave the club at this stage.

We’re looking to go forward and making Celtic better.”

Agreeing a permanent deal to sign Odsonne Edouard is the priority deal while talks continue with James Forrest, Stuart Armstrong and Dedryck Boyata to sign new contracts.

Question marks remain over the future of a number of players with Erik Sviatchenko, Jozo Simunovic and Cristian Gamboa likely to move on during the summer transfer window.
