Celtic’s brilliant title gallery

The final result didn't put any dampener on another day of celebration in the east end as Celtic celebrated winning another SPFL title. True they didn't reach the consistent heights of last season but when it was most needed Brendan Rodgers side had enough in the tank to swot aside the noise from title pretenders. Four wins out of four at Pittodrie and Ibrox formed the back-rock of the success with new heroes emerging in Olivier Ntcham, Kris Ajer and Odsonne Edouard. Without question two victories over Sevco will be savoured most when this title is recalled. At Ibrox, a week after the home dressing room had roared with delight at the semi-final draw for the Scottish Cup, Sevco were dealt a crushing blow when 10 Celts came from behind to win 3-2. By the time that the tribute act reached Celtic Park at the end of April their spirit was crushed. At 0-5 they get let off lightly as the SPFL title was officially clinched. Next weekend the team can create more history- Motherwell stand between Rodgers' side and a double treble with all the omens pointing towards another great day in the history of Celtic. CHAMPIONS AGAIN It was all smiles in the sunshine as the hoops picked up the prize after another dominating season setting the standard in Scottish football. When the big matches came along the hoops found an extra gear led by their skipper who never flagged for a moment during the 38 match marathon. The faces change, only Lustig and Forrest remain with Brown from the class of 2012 with the fans lapping up the celebrations in the sunshine of Glasgow's east end.n. SKIPPER Even by his own high standards it has been an outstanding season for Scott Brown. Opponents have come flying in from all angles to try and cut him down to size but none of them have got the measure of the Celtic midfielder. Broony has been incredible, standards dropped among many players from last season but along with Kieran Tierney the skipper never took a dip in form and inspired a title win through his attitude and playing style. PICTURE 3 Six days away from completing a record that proved to be beyond Jock Sein- a double treble. The Irishman would never dream of even being compared to the iconic Celtic boss but a win over Motherwell on Saturday will put Rodgers into his own place in Celtic history. There has been sticky times this season, it hasn't all been clockwork but Rodgers knows what he is doing, knows what is needed and will never allow complacency to set in at any level. BOYD AND BEAR They both enjoyed a few triumphs as player and captain, today they were in the position of supporters as Celtic celebrated the 2017/18 title success. Aitken started his Celtic career as a schoolboy in the mid seventies, played in Jock Stein's final successes with the 1976/77 double and captained the Centenary double winners in 87/88. Boyd had to wait longer for his first title success but in 97/98 he stopped the ten and led the singsong before captaining the 2000/01 treble winners under Martin O'Neill. TWO BHOYS Kieran Tierney gets a close look at the trophy but it could be a while before he takes the skipper's armband away from Scott Brown For the third season running KT has enjoyed the celebrations that come with putting yourself in the firing line over 38 matches and coming out on top. Brown is happy to let the young defender grab the megaphone from the Green Brigade but with eight champions winners medals to his name Broony has a few more records in his sights.
