Neil Lennon is ready to make a shock move for Andy Halliday.
It’s believed that the True Blue midfielder has been told that he won’t be part of the Gerrard revolution with The Sun reporting that Hibs are interested in taking Halliday to Easter Road.
With Scott Allan back at Celtic, Dylan McGeouch out of contract and John McGinn the centre of transfer speculation Lennon could be looking for a whole new midfield for next season.
Despite being a target for the Ibrox boo-boys Halliday is highly rated within the game after starting almost 50 league matches at Middlesbrough, Walsall, Blackpool and Bradford.
Halliday is under contract until 2020 but after a loan spell with FK Gabala of Azerbaijan leaving Ibrox again won’t be such an upheaval.
It’s believed that Gerrard is looking to ditch upto a dozen of the players that he will inherit on June 1 but with most under contract until 2020 Director of Football Mark Allen will have his work cut out getting rid of the deadwood.
