Less than 24 hours after resigning as a director Paul Murray’s reputation is already being trashed.
The Real Rangers Man’s decision to quit was announced at 11am on Wednesday with Thursday’s Daily Record promising fans that two new non-executive directors are being sought who will bring investment to the club.
In his time as a director Murray was only able to bring in a South African based criminal with the club battling to avoid finishing fourth in the SPFL Premiership.
There was no fanfare for the departure of the businessman from the Borders with further insult added in today’s Daily Record- the organ that Murray praised for it’s courageous journalism when he was given a fresh blazer in March 2015.
The Record reports: “They are now looking to appoint at least two new non-executive directors, not necessarily Rangers fans, with a view to opening the door to fresh investment at the club.
“No announcement is imminent but King and his board are working behind the scenes to bring in high-calibre candidates to help compete with the financial dominance of Celtic.”
No credible business person will want associated with a boardroom that includes King, their other directorships would be at stake from association with the South African based criminal.
Until King complies with the ruling of the Takeover Appeal Board or the other directors show some leadership in support of shareholders there will be no share issue and no investment in the ailing Ibrox company.
