Sevco are lining up a third bid for Conor Goldson, according to a report in the Daily Record.

It seems that Ibrox Director of Football Mark Allen has learned nothing from the embarrassing Jamie Murphy saga when Brighton refused to give the player away on the never never.

After the embarrassment of Murphy being left behind at Edinburgh Airport as Sevco flew out to Florida a loan deal was arranged that became permanent once the first of three payments was made to the south coast club.

Brighton are in no rush to sell Goldson who appeared in three EPL matches last season and is under contract at the Amex Stadium until 2020.

According to the Record:

Steven Gerrard is refusing to give up on Brighton defender Connor Goldson – as Rangers prepare to make a THIRD bid this week.

The new Ibrox gaffer has made the 25-year-old centre-back one of his top targets and Gers’ second offer of around £2million was rejected on Friday.

But Mailsport understands Gerrard has now sanctioned another improved bid, which will include add-ons and incentives in an attempt to land Goldson.

Brighton paid Shrewsbury £850,000 for Goldson after the defender had come through the ranks at the New Meadow.

Gerrard is expected to report for business on Friday with only Scott Arfield and Allan McGregor added to last season’s failures.

Dave King has still to reveal details of the £6m June share issue with no information yet from Hummel on the design, sales or launch date for the new strips that will be worn next season.
