Following on from Bobby Madden’s decision to let Steven Naismith away with brutal attacks on Scott Brown and James Forrest, Steven McLean picked up on that theme in last night’s draw between Aberdeen and Sevco.

McLean has had a nightmare season highlighted by a brief demotion after losing control of the Motherwell v Sevco Betfred Cup semi-final with players from both sides escaping punishment.

Between the 26th and 43rd minutes Graham Dorrans, Andy Halliday and Jason Holt were all booked before substitute Sean Goss decided to cut down Graeme Shinnie with a brutal high challenge that made no attempt at taking the ball.

McLean had a clear view of the incident, awarded a free kick and decided that no further action was needed after talking to the on loan midfielder.

Goss was booked in the 86th minute with Sevco collecting six bookings as they battled to a draw in the race for second place.
