Referee Craig Thomson seems far more lenient than Willie Collum for incidents involving Alfredo Morelos.
Urged in by assistant Douglas Ross, Collum couldn’t wait to flash a red card at Jozo Simunovic when he raised his arm as the Colombian goal ace raced towards him.

After the match there was an acceptance that having raised his arm Simunovic was deserving of a red card. One of my pet hates, the phrase ‘He gave the referee a decision to make’ was widely aired ignoring the fact that the referee is employed to give 90 minutes of decisions.
After 75 minutes of Sunday’s derby match Thomson had a decision to make.
With Dedryck Boyata ushering the ball out of the park Morelos came rushing towards him, raising his hands to push the defender on the back of the neck while kicking out at Boyata’s legs.
Thomson showed none of Collum’s enthusiasm, after allowing the incident to settle down, almost as an after thought a yellow card was issued to Morelos.
Apparently these decisions even up over the course of a season.
