Levein’s u-turn

Two days after telling reporters that he would appeal any decision to punish Steven Naismith Craig Levein has performed a shameless u-turn.

The Hearts striker performed a brutal attack on Scott Brown early on in the 3-1 defeat to Celtic.

Despite Bobby Madden having a clear view of an obvious red card incident Naismith got off scot-free during the game and went on to try and break James Forrest’s ankle soon afterwards.

In the second half the former Scotland star never took more than two touches on the ball.

Had Madden did his job properly Naismith would have been red carded, Forrest’s ankle would be in better condition. Naismith would also have missed last night’s derby win over Hibs.

The on-loan Norwich striker will miss Sunday’s match away to Kilmarnock with the second match being served next season at whatever club he is registered with.

While supporters complain about the injustice of the system the clubs can make changes to streamline the procedure through the AGM of the SFA which will be held later this month.
