What is delaying Sevco’s Hummel deal?

With no word coming out from Sevco or Hummel supporters are getting increasingly concerned about exactly what the Ibrox club will be wearing next season.

Rumours of an orange strip have kept the hard of thinking amused but with Steven Gerrard starting work on Friday there seems to be no urgency to cash in on the publicity and attention.

The Ibrox Supporters Liaison Officer has been vague with details of the new kit even thought Real Murcia and Utrecht, two clubs in the Hummel stable, have recently released details of their kit for next season.

In the absence of information social media has started to speculate that the deal isn’t quite as it was presented.

There are some claims on social media that Hummel require an upfront payment from the club before they begin manufacturing and distribution which can take eight weeks to complete.

Recent events would suggest that cash is in short supply at Ibrox with every available penny being put towards Steven Gerrard’s transfer war-chest.

Dave King recently announced a £6m share issue in June but that looks as pie-in-the-sky as the floating pitch, super casino and Govan heliport.

So far Scott Arfield and Allan McGregor have been unveiled in last season’s kit- with the clock racing towards the lucrative holiday period it looks like Sevco could be left behind despite a new merchandise and retail deal being among King’s priorities when he swept to power three years ago.
