Celtic fans reacted with joy to news that a deal to sign Odsonne Edouard had taken significant steps forward.
According to Sky Sports representatives of the player are flying to London expecting to complete a £9m deal for the Paris Saint Germain striker.
That price is around 50% more than the record fees that Celtic have ever paid out with the deals to sign Chris Sutton, Neil Lennon and John Hartson all around the £6m mark.
With Sky Sports breaking the story English fans were laughing at the thought of £9m being a transfer record for the hoops.
Modern day EPL fans replying to this are absolute spackers of the highest order.

Celtic generate their own money through smart business. A lot of bottom half PL sides rely on TV money and when that goes they are rarely seen again.

Imagine celebrating the ridiculous price inflation in football and thinking it has any relevance to the size of your club. Modern football’s biggest achievement was tricking stupid people like you into thinking that’s true, and then charging you over the odds to watch it

Celtic just paid £9 million, the biggest fee they’ve ever paid for a player, and will probably walk the league. Shows how tinpot the SPL actually is

West Ham signed André Ayew for 20 million, he scored 9 in 43 games. Swansea re-signed him for 18 million, he didn’t score once and they were relegated
If EPL fans think that’s value for money, good for them. Pay your Sky subscription fees while we enjoy watching real football

Odsonne spent last season on loan at Celtic after being brought in as third choice striker by Brendan Rodgers.
The hoops boss had been reluctant to bring in a third striker but injuries to Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths forced a change of mind.
Among the 11 goals that the young Frenchman scored last season three against Sevco confirmed his star quality to the Celtic support.
At Ibrox in March he came off the bench to score the winner before scoring the first two in the 5-0 hammering that clinched the SPFL title at Celtic Park.
