Puzzled Celtic fans quickly jumped on a birthday tweet for Marvin Compper.
The defender turns 33 today but his hoops career remains something of a mystery.
As Celtic shipped goals in the Champions League Brendan Rodgers announced that he was looking to bring in an experienced figure to bolster his defence.
Kolo Toure provided those qualities to steer Celtic through the 2016 Champions League qualifiers with Compper expected to do a similar job when his arrival was confirmed in December.

A thigh injury picked up in Dubai delayed his debut as Kris Ajer cemented his place in the Celtic defence.
Morton in the Scottish Cup provided Compper with a delayed debut- and his only appearance of the season.
It remains to be seen whether the 33-year-old has a role to play in the season ahead or whether Compper will make a low key return to Germany.
