Saidy Janko is a transfer target for Porto.

The former Celtic defender moved to St Etienne last summer and now, according to L’Eqipe is close to a move to the Portuguese giants.

Ronny Deila signed Janko in the summer of 2015 from Manchester United as he set about reshaping his side with Adam Matthews departing for Sunderland.

Although obviously athletic and decent going forward the Swiss youth internationalist struggled defensively and was badly exposed as Celtic crashed out of the Champions League to Malmo at the play-off stage.

Janko’s last Celtic appearance was away to Hapoel Be’er Sheva where he was an obvious weak link. A few days later he was sent on loan to Barnsley before quietly moving to St Etienne last summer.

Now after 13 starts for Celtic and 17 for St Etienne the 22-year-old could be about to move to the side that won last season’s Portuguese title by seven points from Benfica.
