Celtic’s official twitter account has wished Cristian Gamboa the best of luck ahead of Costa Rica’s friendly against the north of Ireland.
The defender only featured in three matches during Celtic’s double treble winning season but is Russia bound with his international side for the World Cup Finals.

A year ago the former West Brom defender opted to play in the Gold Cup rather than prepare for Celtic’s Champions League qualifying campaign.
That decision appeared to end his hoops career with Brendan Rodgers opting to use Tony Ralston as back up to Mikael Lustig.
An appearance at the World Cup Finals will put the 28-year-old even further out of the picture with the Irishman as he prepares for another attempt at reaching the group phase of the Champions League.
Costa Rica open their World Cup campaign against Serbia on June 17 before facing matches against Brazil and Switzerland in Group E.
