Mikael Lustig wasn’t without support in Russia as Sweden beat South Korea in their World Cup opener.
His two daughters may have been brought up in Glasgow but along with their mum Josefin there is no doubting their international allegiance.
A 1-0 win for the Swede’s made the journey worthwhile and gives the Lustig family a great chance of extending their Russian trip.
The win over South Korea, including former Celt Ki Sung Yueng, was played in Nizhny Novgorod with Saturday’s clash with Germany taking place in Sochi.
After that the Swedes complete the group phase with a trip to Ekaterinburg to face Mexico.
Fellow defender Dedryck Boyata also enjoyed a winning start to the World Cup campaign with Belgium easing to a 3-0 win over Panama.
Boyata seems certain to be involved in the knock out stage with a win over Tunisia on Saturday ensuring a place in the last 16 for Roberto Martinez’s side.
