Ryan Jack believes he he suffers from special treatment by Scottish referees.

The Sevco midfielder was sent off four times in 17 SPFL appearances last season as he struggled to cope with his move from Aberdeen.

Rather than look at his own game and approach to opponents Jack feels that he is being picked on by referees after Cedric Kipre went unpunished for the challenge that ended his season in December.

After being signed by Pedro Caixinha and playing under Graeme Murty, Jack will try to impress Steven Gerrard feeling that he is a marked man.

Speaking to The Sun he said: “Certain people get sent off for certain things that aren’t sending-offs and people get away with bad challenges that put people out for six months.

It just shows where it’s at but hopefully it’s behind me and I can move on.

I think if you get a red card that’s not a red card for any player it’s harsh because you miss out on games.

It could cost you your position in the team, it could cost you games for that club.

Obviously it’s not nice but, as I say, it’s one of those things that’s happened.”

Jack faces problems from more than referees if he is to be part of Gerrard’s Revolution.

The new manager is expected to bring in new midfielders despite already having Andy Halliday, Greg Docherty, Jordan Rossiter and Graham Dorrans competing for places in central midfield.
