Brown’s ominous warning

Scott Brown has warned Steven Gerrard that next season’s Celtic side will be even fitter than the one that crushed Graeme Murty’s side!

This season’s Revolution at Ibrox will start with fitness as the former Liverpool u-18 boss puts his players through a punishing training routine in the sunshine of Spain,

Rather than deal with the basic lack of ability Gerrard is playing for time already by emphasising the lack of fitness during matches.

Celtic’s 3-2 win at Ibrox in March will be remembered as a key point in how last season turned out for both clubs with delusions sky high at Ibrox before the kick off.

After twice going ahead they faced ten men for the last half hour but Brendan Rodgers came up with a tactical master-plan that his players delivered in style to claim full points.

The Sevco squad never recovered from that result as they shipped nine goals to the hoops in two matches with Rodgers’ side appearing to score at will.

Brown helped to crush Mark Warburton and Pedro Caixinha and is hearing the familiar close season noises coming from the 2018 summer Revolution.

They’ve brought someone new in but they’ve done that before and we’ve just kicked on and we’ll need to do that again now,” the Celtic skipper told The Sun.

That intensity has been there already in what we’ve done so far. The manager’s talk to us proved he knows what’s happening and he’s brought in a few new faces as well.

We’ve got to believe in our own ability and the people in our dressing room, believe that we’re fitter and stronger and better than everyone else.

We’ll push on and the main thing is our focus is on ourselves. It’s not about Rangers, Hibs or Aberdeen — it’s about how we play and whether or not we turn up.”

Sevco are sue to face Celtic on September 1 or 2.
