Celtic twitter on the troll

In an obvious reference to the events of 2012 Celtic’s twitter account has congratulated Southampton for a prompt payment adding that ‘they love a club that pays its dues’.

Celtic were one of 276 creditors left out of pocket when Her Majesty refused a CVA from the old Rangers club bringing to an end 139 years of dubious traditions.

The transfer of Stuart Armstrong to Southampton has set up some good natured banter between the two clubs on social media.

Losing the ‘His Hair is Fine’ song was an emotional blow to the Celtic support but the Saints have agreed to a royalty payment in return for rights to sing the song, for Stuart Armstrong.

Celtic will collect a £7m transfer fee for the midfielder with a range of add-ons depending on how well Armstrong performs.

It’s believed that the hoops picked up a cheque for around £7m from the £80m fee received from Liverpool for Virgil van Dijk.
