Nadir Ciftci is in talks to join Turkish side Genclerbirligi.

According to a report in The Sun the former Celtic striker is looking to kick start his career back in Turkey.

Three years ago Celtic paid Dundee United £1.5m for Ciftci but he failed to show his Tannadice form for Ronny Deila and was sent out on loan to Eskishirspor during his first season at Celtic.

Further loan spells at Pogori Szczecin, Plymouth and Motherwell failed to work out with Celtic recently coming to an agreement to terminate his contract which ran until June 2019.

Genclerbirligi were relegated from the Turkish top flight at the end of last season after finishing second bottom of the table with 33 points from 34 matches with just 37 goals scored.

Ciftci scored four goals for Celtic but failed to provide an attacking alternative to Leigh Griffiths, during the 2015/16 season Deila brought in Carlton Cole and Colin Kazim Richards.
