It’s not often that you are able to unearth a fresh view of Celtic’s greatest days.
Television/video and photographs from the first nine-in-a-row era is fairly limited with the same images regularly used to illustrate the significant moments.
Video coverage of the Nantes, Zurich and Vojvodina matches are of the sketchy variety that generally require a trained eye to follow although, thankfully, the brilliance of Lisbon is well covered in black and white as colour.

This picture of Jimmy Johnstone recently surfaced on line and has been transformed into colour highlighting the dominance of the Jock Stein days.
Taken in 1970 when green grass was a luxury through the winter months it shows Jimmy Johnstone saluting the Jungle after scoring in a 3-1 over the old Rangers (IL).
At that stage some of the Lisbon Lions were beginning to make way for emerging talents like Davie Hay, George Connolly and Jim Brogan.
A few years later Kenny Dalglish, Lou Macari and Danny McGrain emerged to enjoy the drive on to nine-in-a-row with Johnstone a survivor throughout that run.
