John McGinn is a transfer target for Derby County.
According to a report in The Sun Frank Lampard is showing interest in the midfielder who has been heavily tipped to join Celtic.
How serious the interest is from Derby is uncertain with Hibs knowing that if McGinn isn’t sold in this transfer window he can leave for free next summer. The Edinburgh side have lost Dylan McGeough in those circumstances.
Although there has been no official move from Celtic there is a groundswell of opinion that it is only a matter of timing when the midfielder joins the champions.
Hibs will have to give St Mirren a third of any transfer fee after signing McGinn in 2015 which would increase the value of Scott Allan in any deal.
With Stuart Armstrong expected to complete his move to Southampton this week Celtic are expected to step up their interest in McGinn who was given an extended break by Hibs after being involved in Scotland’s close season matches against Peru and Mexico.
