Steven Gerrard has demanded that Sevco improve on the ‘top of the range breakfasts’ at Murray Park.

The former Liverpool youth coach has been shocked at the shoddy standards and state of disrepair that he has found inside the ‘state-of-the-art’ complex.

For years the training centre, named after tax crook architect Dave Murray by the man himself, has been fawned over with reference made to it’s futuristic design and how potential signings drooled over the facilities then decided to sign contracts.

The reality is a bleak and exposed building that has been denied basic maintenance for years and is now riddled with rust and weeds.

Lee Wallace became a laughing stock on social media when he highlighted the top of the range breakfasts that players enjoyed before training but that has cut little ice with Gerrard.

11 minutes for Waldo’s breakfast reference.

The former Anfield youth coach has known nothing but the best at Melwood and St George’s Park with The Sun revealing his dismay at the standards of the Milngavie eyesore.

SunSport understands they want the complex completely revamped so prospective signings will be bowled over by the training facilities on offer.

The changes will be mostly cosmetic to replace what are viewed as “tired” surroundings.

But the kitchen facilities are also being improved in what’s described as a bid to “crank up” the meals on offer to players and staff.

Gerrard wants a system where players can request specific diet-related items rather than adhere to a menu.

The same report also claims that rather than living in the west end Gerrard and his backroom team require accommodation in Bearsden and Milngavie which won’t come cheaply.

Pedro Caixinha never left his hotel room at the Premier Inn, Bearsden before getting sacked.
