Steven Gerrard is set to go head-to-head with Neil Lennon to sign Brandon Barker on loan from Manchester City.

According to a report in The Sun the 21-year-old is being lined up as the NINTH signing of the Revolution with Roma reserve Umar Sadiq assumed to be Gerrard’s eight signing.

Barker started 17 of Hibs’ 38 Premiership matches last season but appears to have did enough to earn catch the attention of the former Liverpool u-18 coach.

After committing close to £5m in transfer fees to sign Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic it seems that Dave King’s war-chest has been used up.

Of the seven players to have signed up so far to the Revolution only three have required a transfer fee with the deal for Jamie Murphy agreed with Brighton in January when the player moved initially on loan.

Director of Football Mark Allen has still to negotiate his first transfer fee with Jason Holt and Joe Dodoo going out on loan while Micky O’Halloran was paid off to move to Melbourne City.
