Jamie Lindsay has left Celtic to join Ross County on a two year contract.

The midfielder was on loan at the Dingwall club last season after similar spells at Dumbarton and Morton.

Lindsay came through the ranks alongside Lewis Kidd and Denny Johnstone but fell just short during a period when Celtic had a real surplus of midfielders to choose from.

Liam Henderson and Joe Thomson were a year behind Lindsay with Thomson expected to move on shortly while Henderson joined Bari in January.

Jim McIntyre was the manager at Ross County when Lindsay went on loan with the 22-year-old remaining a regular through Owen Coyle being in charge and onto current boss Stuart Kettlewell.

Last week Sam Wardrop moved to Dundee United as the benchmark gets set higher and higher to make it into the first team squad.

Calvin Miller and Tony Ralston are the players closest to making the breakthrough with the next batch of emerging players led by Mikey Johnston and including Robbie Deas, Kerr McInroy, Jack Aitchison, Stephen Welsh and Daniel Church.
