Brendan Rodgers has one regret about Celtic’s 5-0 title clincher against Sevco- that his side never scored more goals!

The hoops had beaten the Ibrox men at Ibrox and Hampden in the previous six weeks to set up a title clincher on home turf.

Celtic Park was awash with anticipation with the team responding brilliantly to race into a 3-0 lead at half-time.

After the break only the winning margin remained in doubt but after Callum McGregor scored the fifth after 53 minutes there was no further scoring.

Reflecting on that match Rodgers told BT Sport: “The only disappointment was that we should have more goals but I think you know the team is doing well when, against your great rival.

You win 5-0 and still think you should have scored more. It was a great day and the players deserved a few days away after that. It was a magical day.”

Celtic netted 12 times in their last three matches against Sevco with Graeme Murty a broken man by the time he was removed as first team manager.

Sevco are expected back at Celtic Park in the first round of fixtures for next season with Rodgers coming face to face with the fourth Ibrox manager since taking over with Steven Gerrard following on from Mark Warburton, Pedro Caixinha and Murty.
