Sevco have presented the SFA with yet another headache by having an unqualified First Team Coach.

Cunningly the appointment of Gerrard was held back until June 1, the day after the SFA sent off the Scottish applications backed up by supporting documentation to UEFA.

As able administrator Andrew Dickson knows very well it is the duty of the club to inform the SFA of any change in circumstances of the applicant.

Dicko can now send off an email to the SFA informing them that Mr Murty is no longer the head coach and has been replaced by someone without the highest valid UEFA coaching licence. Mr Gerrard is currently studying for his Pro Licence with the English FA.

According to the UEFA RULES page 21:

Head coach of first squad

1 The licence applicant must have appointed a qualified head coach who is responsible for football matters of the first squad.

2 The head coach must hold one of the following minimum coaching qualifications: a) Highest available valid UEFA coaching licence of the UEFA member association of the territory on which the licence applicant is situated according to the association’s membership status under the UEFA Coaching Convention; b) Valid non-UEFA coaching diploma which is equivalent to the one required for the licence under a) above and recognised by UEFA as such.

Hamilton Accies have failed to get a gold award from the SFA because Martin Canning doesn’t have the Pro licence.

Should Sevco not get a UEFA licence Kilmarnock will take their place in the first qualifying round of the Europa League.
