Every avenue is being explored to raise funds for Steven Gerrard’s transfer war-chest with the Sevco club shop trying to shift car tax holders at £1 each.

Car tax discs were phased out in 2014 but after discovering some old stock Ibrox fans are being asked to clear the shelves.

It’s believed that the retail deal with Sports Direct ends of July 31 with no indication of what the club plans to do after that date.

After two years of arguments and court cases Dave King splashed out £3m to end the contract with Mike Ashley’s firm with the Puma deal also included.

Sevco fans immediately flocked to buy last season’s kit which had to be used again for the 2017/18 season.

A new kit deal has been agreed with Danish firm Hummel but so far there has been no sign of the kit that the team will wear or a date that fans can snap up the merchandise of their heroes.

On twitter last week some fans claimed that the training kit worn by Steven Gerrard was the same as the Hummel kit used by Pollok Juniors.
