Chris Sutton has sent out a cryptic message about Moussa Dembele.
The striker is halfway through his four year Celtic contract and is expected to be at the centre of attention during the transfer window.
In January Dembele was strongly tipped to leave Celtic- Sky Sports even claimed that an £18m move to Brighton had been agreed- but dramatically towards the end of the month Brendan Rodgers stated that he wouldn’t be leaving.
Sutton is a big fan of the striker and included the following comment in his Daily Record column which centred on the Celtic players that need to improve next season.
Moussa Dembele didn’t fire all of the time, but much of that was down to injury and a saga around the time of the January transfer window which I didn’t really feel was of his making.
That’s a story for another time and, anyway, given there’s a good chance he’ll leave, it makes this discussion less of an issue for him.
Although he didn’t get close to the same volume of goals the 21-year-old did dominate the bigger matches- scoring in both of Celtic’s wins at Pittodrie and destroying Sevco at Ibrox and Hampden.
He failed to get a goal in the final of the Scottish Cup against Motherwell but picked up the Man-of-the-Match award with a domineering display that the Lanarkshire side had no answer to.
