Jamie McCart has joined Inverness Caley Thistle on a two year contract.

The defender had spells out on loan at St Mirren and Alloa Athletic last season and spent four months on loan at the highland side in season 2016/17.

McCart made one top team appearance for Celtic, against Motherwell in the Betfred Cup in August 2016, but failed to make the breakthrough as Brendan Rodgers built the invincible side.

The defender, who will be 21 next week, came through the ranks at the Celtic Academy with his playing style very similar to his dad, Chris.

With Sam Wardrop and Jamie Lindsay already fixed up elsewhere spaces are being cleared in the Development Squad for next season.

Tommy McIntyre and Shaun Maloney were basically working with an u-18 side last season with that squad forming the backbone of next season’s side.

No loan moves have been agreed but Dundee United are keen to take Jack Aitchison on a season long loan.
