Charly says ‘Never Give Up’

Charly Musonda is back on social media, all ‘Chelsea’d’ up and ready for whatever challenges and adventures that the new season has in store.

Just six months ago there was a frenzy of excitement among Celtic fans as a loan move inched closer with the 67 jersey on his back.

Pretty quickly questions began to emerge about the young Belgian, his appearances became more fleeting as Tom Rogic and Stuart Armstrong returned to fitness and favour.

Rumours of discontent quickly surfaced, whether it was from Celtic or the player hardly matters with the inevitable conclusion of the 18 month loan being terminated.

Getting a tune out of Charly is unlikely to be a priority for new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri.

Mussonda will be 22 in October. With just one spell at Real Betis on his CV he must have looked in on at Kylian Mbappe today with envy, perhaps even the bronze medal that Dedryck Boyata collected to go alongside his domestic gongs.
