Hummel and JD Sports are both considering walking away from Ibrox.

As Dave King prepares to go to the Court of Session to face a contempt charge these is more bad news around the corner for the South African based criminal, according to a report by Phil MacGiollabhain.

The Donegal based blogger has a track record of getting much more right than wrong when it comes to matters inside the blue room with the new retail deal causing fresh concerns.

According to Phil, JD Sports weren’t informed that Sevco’s ‘exit deal’ with Sports Direct included a clause allowing Mike Ashley’s firm to match any subsequent contract.

After Sevco failed to comply with that contract Sports Direct had an injunction slapped on the new contract which has prevented the new Hummel kit from going on sale.

King’s dispute has meant that Hummel and JD Sport have missed out on most of the lucrative summer market which could see both firms look to redraw their contracts or walk away.

It’s doubtful whether the South African based criminal will appear at Friday’s court case which is likely to reinforce the call for sanctions which would include a jail term.

King has failed to comply with the Takeover Appeal Panel ruling that shareholders outwith his concert party are offered 20p per share.
