Celtic have signed Ernie Legault on a three year contract.

The right-back was listed as a substitute in last week’s 3-1 win over Manchester United at the Super Cup Northern Ireland but didn’t get on the pitch.

Celtic have been impressed enough by the young French kid to get him signed onto a three year contract with a debut expected this weekend at the South Shields tournament.

A google or twitter search for Ernie doesn’t come up with many answers!

Tommy McIntyre’s squad are in action tonight against Marseille in the u-23 tournament hosted by non-league club South Shields.

Tomorrow the host side play Southampton with the tournament concluding on Sunday afternoon.

Celtic will take a large squad south for the weekend including a couple of trialists from Ireland.

Following those matches Celtic’s next scheduled game is away to Albion Rovers on August 7 in the Jock Stein Trophy followed by the first competitive game- away to Annan Athletic on August 14 in the Irn Bru Cup.

UPDATE: Ernie is actually Emile, click HERE for more on the French Canadian defender.
