Celtic transfer blow

Celtic have had a third bid for John McGinn rejected by Hibs.

The midfielder is out of contract in June 2019 with The Sun and Sky Sports both reporting that a bid in the region of £2m has been rejected.

Hibs seem adamant that they value McGinn at £4m but unless a bid for that amount comes in from England before August 9- and the player agrees to the move- they will be left with a stalemate.

With half of the Scotland international team playing at Celtic and his family background a move to Celtic Park is bound to appeal to the former St Mirren man.

Having played for Hibs against NSI Runavik in the Europa League first round McGinn is ineligible to play in qualifiers for any other club.

If Celtic reached the group phase of either UEFA tournament McGinn would be available- but before that happens it looks like there will need to be more negotiations between the two clubs.
