Moussa Dembele appears ready to lead Celtic’s strike-force against Rosenborg on Wednesday night.

The Frenchman was substituted midway through the second half of the 3-0 home win over Alashkert with Brendan Rodgers concerned by a tightening of his hamstring.

Dembele missed both matches against the Norwegian side last season with Celtic relying on a James Forrest goal to make progress.

The early signs this season are that Dembele and Odsonne Edouard are capable of forming a deadly partnership with the Evening Times reporting good news on that front:

Moussa Dembele is believed to be winning his fight to play in Wednesday night’s second round UEFA Champions League tie against Rosenborg.

The French striker was forced out of last week’s comprehensive win against Arminian side Alashkert with a tight hamstring but it’s believed the move was mostly precautionary.

Mikael Lustig is back in training today but it’s believed that next week’s return match in Norway is a more realistic target for the defender.

Rosenborg arrive in Glasgow apparently in crisis but Rodgers won’t be paying too much attention to that sideshow as he plots qualification for the third season running to the group phase of the Champions League.

In the last round Rosenborg edged past Valur on a 3-2 aggregate with coach Kare Ingebrigtsen sacked the day after the return leg.
