There were a few differences in execution but the message was the same as the young French striker pushed Celtic almost beyond the Norwegian champions.

Eighteen years ago in a tension packed Glasgow derby Larsson’s stunning goal sent out a message that the old Rangers club never recovered from. Bert Kontermann, Lorenzo Amoruso and Klos were left traumatised as Dick Advocaat called for a new cheque book as their empire started to crumble.
Edouard’s goal also looks like the start of something special at Celtic.
Midway through the first half, trailing by a goal and with Rosenborg hinting at scoring a second it wasn’t looking quite so rosy but when Edouard equalised the mood changed.
Rosenborg away isn’t quite so daunting, AEK Athens look manageable and suddenly the hoops are just two matches away from a third successive season in the spotlight of the Champions League.
