Griffiths posts injury update

Leigh Griffiths looks close to a return to action after a post to his Instagram account.

The striker hasn’t played since Celtic returned from their pre-season trip to Austria but was spotted on the training ground last week.

A thigh injury has kept Griffiths out of action but the former Hibs striker looks close to a return to action.

With a doubt over the fitness of Moussa Dembele the return of a fully fit Griffiths would be welcomed by Brendan Rodgers.

Over the last two Champions League qualifying campaigns he has scored a number of vital goals.

Last season Griffiths struggled to get over various muscle strains and underwent surgery in the close season.

With 98 goals since joining Celtic from Wolves four years ago he is looking forward to joining the elite band of players to score 100 goals for Celtic with John Hartson the last striker to join that club.
