Moussa Dembele will miss both legs of Celtic’s Champions League qualifiers against Rosenborg.

With no guarantee that the striker will be available to face AEK Athens should the hoops progress to the third qualifying round.

Dembele was substituted midway through the second half of the 3-0 home win over Alashkert with concerns about a tight hamstring bringing bad news.

Speaking to the Celtic View Rodgers admitted: “Moussa will be out for a few weeks. Thankfully it’s not a longer-term hamstring. Sometimes these things can be six to eight weeks but it’s not that – it’s two to three weeks maximum. It was unfortunate for him as he’s looked very fit in pre-season.

We had a scare with Odsonne as well and he only just re-joined training on Monday. After the game, his knee had swollen up. He hadn’t trained for a few days but he looked fine on Monday in training.

Whether Odsonne is up there on his own or he’s playing with someone, he’s already proven, he can play the role really well.”

Leigh Griffiths has resumed full training but is likely to settle for a place on the bench alongside Tom Rogic.

The Australian was given an extended break following his involvement at the World Cup Finals but has been back in training for 10 days.

With Dembele missing Celtic go into Wednesday’s match without Dedryck Boyata, Jozo Simunovic, Mikael Lustig, Jonny Hayes, Lewis Morgan and Nir Bitton.
