Sevco are stepping up their efforts to raise money for the Gerrard Revolution by shifting the leftovers from last summers Latin Revolution.

Twelve months ago Bruno Alves and Alfredo Morelos were tipped to wrestle the SPFL title from Celtic but now Director of Football Mark Allen is trying to cut costs by removing them from the wage bill.

Last week, due to ‘numbers’ Gerrard admitted that players would have to move on before he could bring in new faces to Ibrox.

After tales about interest in Morelos from China and Besiktas fell flat the striker is apparently the transfer target of Fenerbahce.

Graeme Murty was blamed for rejecting a bid of £11m in February with a fee of £2.6m now being quoted for the Colombian.

That fee would just about cover the £1.1m that Sevco paid HJK Helsinki a year ago plus the players wages, signing on fee and agency costs.

Alves is apparently in Italy negotiating a deal with Parma despite having a year left on his Ibrox deal.

The newly promoted Serie A side are unlikely to be willing to match the defender’s £28,000/week wages leaving Sevco to offer a pay off or be left with the 37-year-old on the wage bill for another season.
