SPFL clubs have voted AGAINST bringing in a maximum length of grass!

UEFA and FIFA has regulations on the length of grass that matches are played on but apparently Scottish clubs know better.

According to a report in the Daily Record only seven of the 12 Premiership clubs backed the move which apparently was viewed as a Celtic v Hearts issue.

At the end of last season Brendan Rodgers was highly critical of the surface at Tynecastle, stating before the match that he had been forced to change tactics due to the length of the pitch.

Craig Levein came up with a ‘witty’ reply to that knowing that there stopping Celtic has more support in Scotland than raising the standard of facilities for clubs to play on.

Without any explanation yesterday the SFA docked Hearts two points and fined them £10,000 for fielding an ineligible player against Cove Rangers in the Betfred Cup.

Both UEFA and FIFA award opponents a 3-0 victory when they come up against a team using an ineligible player.

Celtic visit Tynecastle on August 11 in the second round of SPFL fixtures.
