Sixteen-year-old goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu has been on trial with Celtic.
According to a report in The Scotsman Liverpool and Newcastle have joined the chase to sign the Shamrock Rovers keeper.
Bazunu broke into the Rovers first team at the start of June and impressed in the 0-0 draw away to Cork City where he saved a penalty as well as last week’s Europa League tie against. He never played in Celtic’s recent 7-0 win over the Dublin side.

Celtic are well covered for goalkeepers with Conor Hazard, Ross Doohan and Ryan Mullan all on long term contracts but Bazunu does appear to be a special talent.
Developing goalkeepers is one of the most difficult tasks in the game with match time essential for their progress.
Shamrock Rovers can provide him with that option while a move to Celtic or an English team would provide him with expert training and conditioning but would likely involve playing under-age football within the Academy structure.
