Celtic and Rosenborg will both go into the third round draw for the Champions League with the draw taking place on Monday.
While the hoops cruised into the next round on a 6-0 aggregate against Alashkert it took a hotly contested penalty in stoppage time for the Norwegian champions to get past the Valur of Iceland.
Celtic’s win wasn’t without set-backs with Jozo Simunovic suspended for Wednesday’s first leg clash with Rosenborg and Moussa Dembele an injury concern after he felt tightness in his hamstring.
1. The draw for the 3rd round of qualifying takes place on Monday. Here’s who is seeded and who is unseeded. Potential for some difficult ties in there.

2. We have until midnight on Thursday to register our squad for the Rosenborg tie, and until the 2nd August for the 3rd round. We can add another 2 players to our squad after those dates as long as they’re registered by midnight on the day before the 1st leg.

3. Should all the seeded teams progress through the 2nd and 3rd rounds, our playoff opponents would be either Legia Warsaw, Astana, Young Boys of Berne or Qarabag.
Obviously a long way to go before we have to worry about that, though.

Due to the schedule and additional round UEFA has to make the draw a week in advance with the third round being staged during the second and third weeks in August.
The easiest travel arrangements would see Celtic visit HJK Helsinki or Malmo but both of those sides are up against teams seeded higher than them in the second qualifying round.
Celtic have opted out of playing friendlies over the next two weekends with the SPFL campaign kicking off against Livingston between the second and third round matches- assuming that Celtic see off Norway.
Any team losing out at this stage will drop into the Europa League qualifying process.
