Bart Vertenten will referee Celtic’s Champions League qualifier against Rosenborg.

At 30 years of age he’s younger than hoops duo Scott Brown and Craig Gordon!

Last season Vertenten took charge of two Europa League group matches after being in charge of Inter Milan v Sparta Prague during the 2016/17 season.

The Belgian has extensive youth match experience and has been in charge of Celtic’s UEFA Youth League home matches against the Puskas Academy and Manchester City.

After the erratic performance of the Romanian referee in the match against Alashkert Brendan Rodgers will be hoping for more consistency from tomorrow’s Belgian referee.

On the pitch the Celtic boss will be assessing the fitness of three key players before he gets around to naming his side.

Moussa Dembele, Leigh Griffiths and Tom Rogic are all at different stages of fitness as Rodgers shapes the Celtic attack while injuries, suspension and World Cup commitments mean that the defence virtually picks itself.
