Jack Larkin from Waterford is on trial at Celtic, featuring in the 2-1 win over South Shields.
I was informed that Jack had signed for Celtic, unfortunately I jumped the gun with that. Apologies for that slip, I will check tips off a little more thorough in future. Best of luck to Jack wherever his career takes him.
The striker celebrated his 18th birthday at South Shields today learning about the darker arts of the game as he was substituted at half time with a sore face.
Larkin has spent the last two seasons playing as a striker for Waterford’s u-17 side and featured in the Celtic squad that took part in the South Shields International Tournament.
If he does move to Celtic he won’t be short of Irish company with Tom Caffrey and Barry Coffey taking a similar journey with both involved in today’s 2-1 win over the Northern Premier League side where Leo Mazis and Grant Savoury scored for Tommy McIntyre’s side.
Larkin has signed a three year contract for Celtic and will be aiming to break into the reserve side while crossing his fingers that the young hoops take part in the UEFA Youth League which is dependent on the first team reaching the group phase of the Champions League.
