Celtic’s u-14 side face Chelsea tomorrow in the semi-final of the International Champions Cup in Orlando after beating Atletico Madrid 4-2 to reach the last four.
While Manchester City, Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain, Juventus, Barcelona, Roma and others take part in the main event shadowing the Champions League the organisers have arranged a ‘Future’s’ event in Orlando involving eight European Academies and 16 American sides.
Celtic finished on top of Group 2 ahead of DC United and the ICC All Stars, with the investment in youth football in the USA that achievement shouldn’t be overlooked with the hoops beating DC United 2-0 and hammering the All Stars 4-0.
Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool failed to reach the last eight.
After a day out at Disney on Thursday the young hoops turned on the style to beat Atletico 4-2 with goals from Adam Brooks 2, Barry Hepburn and Josh Adams.
Chelsea beat Seatle Sounders 2-1 to reach the last four with the other semi final between Bayern Munich and New York Red Bulls.
